A Little Bit of This and That, This Week!
Your Non-Toxic Home Newsletter for 5-16-2025 Is Here!
Welcome, New Subscribers!
It may be a radical statement these days, but we can have different opinions about some topics and still be friends. While our opinions are based on extensive research, weighing all sides of any issues, we respect your beliefs/opinions.
As we address many different topics, including faith-based topics, if you disagree with an assertion or are uninterested, simply ignore the article or video like you would have strolled past an uninteresting store when cruising the mall in the 90s!
Consultation Request?
Email consultations are available on a variety of topics! Some clients just want someone to bounce ideas/plans off of, others want to pick my brain about specific topics I’m knowledgeable about, while others want me to research a topic for them. You can get going as soon as my time permits and find more info here.
The best way to contact me is to add nontoxichome (at) protonmail (dot) com to your contact list, then send me an email. Otherwise, my responses often end up in the spam folder or lost in the ether.
My computer time is extremely limited, so I have a plan for questions which I’ll share soon!
What’s Been Up
Thank you for being here! I hope this newsletter greets you like a big, fuzzy hug in your inbox, because you are appreciated!
Usually, I’m a bit of an open book, sometimes a bit too much of one! But I’ve been dealing with junk over the past few weeks that I absolutely hate dealing with… and the fact is that it’s totally unnecessary.
But people are as they are. Persecution isn’t always “you gonna die, fool!" Sometimes it comes in the form of emotional persecution, social ostracizication (Is that a word? It is now, by golly!), financial persecution, casting out one’s name as evil, or via other forms.
Honestly, I would rather have been working on taxes in the past few weeks, which tells you just how much fun I’ve been having on this end.
I’m just glad that this world and this insane system of money isn’t my reward. Then I’d be seriously depressed, or angry. Which, I suppose, does explain the behavior of some.
Anyways, hopefully I’m about done with dealing with all of that mess, and can enjoy writing and posting videos more again! I’ve been working in the garden as much as possible, and am in the middle of digging holes for fence post replacement. Otherwise, deer eat my food and trample my garden plants. One deer already broke in, along with a raccoon.
Also, someone may or may not have gotten unexpected chest pains from the neighboring kid’s Five Grr phone and accidentally left the garden gate open for the chickens to gallivant about, throwing mulch everywhere.
US Cities Are Sinking (External Link)
Apparently Indianapolis, Indiana is in the top 28 most populous cities in the US. I had no idea. It’s on the list of US cities sinking, which apparently the majority are! I’ve seen multiple links out there on this topic, so it’s something that is desired to be discussed and the causes erroneously attributed.
Isn’t that just fascinating? Babylon, anyone? Atlantis?
“My Brain Finally Broke”- External Link
From the New Yorker:
Much of what we see now is fake, and the reality we face is full of horrors. More and more of the world is slipping beyond my comprehension.
Has that author been listening to me???
People are sick- and it’s spring! Now is the time when people typically start feeling better. Moods improve, activity increases, flowers get planted, and as all of this works together, mental abilities improve as well.
Well, not this year, it seems. There are so many struggling right now per real-life hubby experiences, and the overall mood of the nation (world?) seems to be reflected in this article. Please note that I don’t care a lick about politics. Trump, Biden, JoJo the Clown- all are irrelevant to me and my point in sharing this article.
Many are despondent as they see what is happening. Productivity is down across the board, whether or not anyone else wants to admit it. The signs of serious economic instability are all there, regardless of tariff push-and-pull.
This author even writes of the dystopic reality in which most people live attached to their cell phone. Hey, guess what? The Internet is not reality.
Even Zuckerberg recently stated that Facebook is one global conversation, run by algorithms.
Facebook is not reality.
And, in what I think is my final point in sharing this article- which again, is mainstream- is that the author clearly has lost faith in political parties. This is not accidental. Of course politicians are now making music videos and making the same verbatim statements, as they do nothing. That’s how you get people to agree that technocracy is the solution.
Oh, and one more thing- drones are mentioned.
P.S. Anyone can deep fake anyone now. I could do it myself. Know my heart.
P.S.S. All hope is not lost.
P.S.S.S. You are loved. Don’t let your circumstances define you. Emotions and thoughts will come and go. Let them go!
My Super-Cool Experiment
Fermenting is now my go-to for food preservation, as I’ve previously shared. It’s so stinking cool, and easy!
Calm down, Leanna.
I still have half a shelf in the fridge of fermented tomatoes from last year, but I had an idea earlier this year. After I’ve fished out the fermented tomatoes to use as homemade nutrient-dense pizza topping, I always end up with a jar full of seeds. Would they germinate if I planted them?
The answer is yes! I don’t have a picture, because I’m seriously exhausted, but I had to share. I just spread it all out in a tray half-full with Happy Frog soil, added some Happy Frog soil on top, watered, and stuck them in my make-shift greenhouse. I did so with two plastic trays.
Voila! Tomato plants!
